A PR campaign from window systems specialist Spectus has been shortlisted for this year’s prestigious Construction Marketing Awards.
Delivered in conjunction with Refresh PR, the multi-media campaign aimed to dispel the myths surrounding PVC-U and has been nominated in the ‘Best Use of Press and Public Relations’ category.
A survey of specifiers’ attitudes to PVC-U was at the centre of the campaign and generated coverage and discussion around the sustainability and aesthetics of PVC-U in the print and online trade press, as well as social media.
Commenting on the award nomination, Joanna Plane, Divisional Marketing Manager for Epwin Window Systems Division, said: “Despite efforts by the industry over recent years to dispel some of the myths surrounding PVC-U, our survey showed that high numbers of specifiers still question the environmental and aesthetic credentials of PVC-U windows, particularly in conservation areas.
“Our PR campaign tackled these issues head-on to the benefit of our customers and the wider PVC-U windows industry.”
The winners will be announced at the Construction Marketing Awards dinner on 6 December 2012 in London.
